What does an AMC-style contract cover?

What we agree in writing: typically monitoring, maintenance, user support and defined response times for a fixed annual fee. The audit phase produces the exact inventory the contract covers, so there are no grey areas mid-year.

We already have an IT person. Does managed IT still make sense?

Often, yes — as coverage and escalation behind them. Many clients keep internal staff for day-to-day work and use the contract for monitoring, after-hours coverage, specialist systems or holiday backup.

How quickly do you respond when something breaks?

Response times are defined per severity in your contract rather than promised loosely. Critical outages are worked immediately during contracted hours, and remote resolution usually starts within the agreed window.
